Intel demonstrated their new technology for wireless transmission of power which uses magnetic induction to transmit power without cables. It showed a power loss of only 25% when lighting a 60 W light bulb over a distance of two feet.

Using induction for power transfer is an old idea, but if they can develop a practical implementation it is game-changing technology for the computer industry.
