Muxtape, the awesomely simple music sharing website, has been pulled down by the RIAA. It’s a real shame. It was a simple, useful and well-designed site. I had created my own muxtape (now defunct).
Anyway, without a business model in sight—it had no advertising—I don’t see how the creator can afford to pay the licensing fees that the RIAA will want in response to Muxtape using so much copyright music.
It will be interesting to see whether Muxtape ever comes back online.
